marathon candy bars,,,,,id chew on them like a dog eating peanut butter
I remember them fondly, too. Only recently did I find out that they are identical to the British "Curly Wurly" bar. I'd heard reference to it in UK shows, so one day I finally looked it up online-and it was the same thing as Marathon bar, only smaller (of course, I was smaller back then, too).
Found an out-of-the-way market in my county that carries a few obscure (for U.S. tastes/brands) UK products, and they had Curly-Wurlies, so I bought a couple, and it really was just like the Marathon. Yum.
I miss Bounty bars, which came in either milk or dark chocolate with coconut filling inside-yes, that's just like an Almond Joy or Mounds, except better-because I chose milk chocolate and it lacked the almond, plus IMHO it was moister chewier yummier coconut inside & nicer chocolate outside the Bounty bars. Have read online that the UK still carries them on store shelves, but they were only here in U.S. for short time (around late 80's-early 90's).
I could go on for far too long, because I get very attached to a given product, and so often it ends up being discontinued (or changed so as to be unrecognizable, no longer possessing the properties that I enjoyed-taste, flavor, smell, etc.)...
A&W indoor or outdoor drive-thru fast food joint! I always had their original A&W root beer in a tall frosted mug and their bacon cheese burger with fries!
I remember a frozen pizza pocket. I'm not sure if McCain's (Ellio's?) made it, but it was the size of a small pita - round too - and was filled with pizza stuff. You cooked it in the toaster. I LOVED those.
