I was too picky as a kid - so not that I necessarily hated something - but truth,
Never had avocado until 23 and loved it.
Ranch Dressing around same age
always had my steak med/well - love it medium now.
Only ate friend shrimp - loving it almost any way now.
Said i didn't like sour cream - loving it now as long as it is full cream - not light or fat free.
Onions. I would always pick them out as a kid. Now I put them in and on everything.
Lol, this brought back an old memory of my daughter as a child; she always had a little pile of onion pieces picked out of her food, on the side of her plate. Now, she uses them a lot more than I do!
Nothing that I can think of. When I reflect back my tastes have been surprisingly consistent. I've always loved blue cheese dressing (even as a toddler according to my mother) and I still like it. I never liked beets and still don't (although I will occasionally try them because I know they're good for me).
I'm not a picky eater though so that may be why. The only "rule" I have is that except in rare combinations, I don't like mixing savory and sweet.
Easy. Onions! My mom used to have to mince them fine and hide them from me. Now I can't imagine cooking without onions and I like them chopped into very large chunks.
While my mother could cook any number of tasty dishes, she killed green vegetables, and some other colors as well. I used to eat spinach at the neighbor's house and didn't taste broccoli until I was a teen. Mom didn't like broccoli.
