Burr. Temperatures dropped drastically last night and we had our first snow.

So, I got to thinking about warm weather food, and pulled out Simply Stews.

Wondering what your favourite food is in weather like this?

I made Chili last week when it dropped to 25 degrees, started it in the crockpot and let it cook all day. This time I used stew beef instead of burger and I think I like it better.

Sounds like a good alternative. I'll have to give that a try: love chili!

Beef stew, potatoe soup, ham and beans (yummmmm), chili and just about any long cooking dish that make the house smell like good home cooking food. I think it's not only the food that warms the soul but the smells make it the best!!!! Not to mention it warms the house by cooking all day long too!

Nice image: a warm cozy kitchen with good smells. And it is cold today!

I bought some pork tenderloins, lightly seasoned them with salt and pepper then wrapped them in Rye Bread Dough and baked them off a few nights ago and they were great. They were the smaller ones so they were done when the dough raised and browned, Might have to precook if they were bigger.

Do you think having a crockpot is a good idea? I don't have one.
