I always tell people it's like walking into a food magazine- everything is so beautiful!

I have a tip for those who purchase beef there.

If you'll notice, the sirloin steaks are usually 7-9 bucks a pound. If you ask the butcher for the WHOLE sirloin price, it's usually 3.99 a pound, but i've sometimes found it as low as 2.99 a lb. Same meat, just not cut. I request my steak thickness and have the non-steak bits sliced into stirfry meat. For a bit above fifty bucks, I get two meals of steak and two of stirfry- for a family of four adults and two kids.

I love the Fresh Market here. It's a beautiful store, so well-kept and well stocked with beautiful food! Some items are indeed pricey, but there are plenty of regular items that cost no more than my regular grocery (which would be Publix here) and are of the same or better quality. They have great bakery items, and I love all the nuts and goodies in the bulk bins! The only problem is it is hard to go into that store and not come out with a whole bunch of tasty goodies that I hadn't planned on buying!

We don't have Fresh Market where I am, nor do I buy beef usually (my husband doesn't eat red meat -- he's such a freak! ), but this is SUCH a fabulous tip!

It's a Sirloin Tip

I grew up in Charlotte, and they've been there for a long time too. Nice stores. If you are not fully dedicated to the healty way of living eating (as I unfortuntately am not), then it is not the best place to do your daily shopping, but still good for specialty items, and I assume it is GREAT for those who are more dedicated to eating a healthy diet (I am working on it, just not there yet...).

I see there is one about 15 miles from my home and less than 5 miles from my work place.

I looked at some of their prices online. Wow, 10 ears of corn for $3. I can get 10 for $1 at Super Fresh Market.

RRR: thank you for the great tip. My dh works next door from TFM and up the street from Sam's which is 2.8 mi. from our home, so it is very convenient for us.

Next weekend Sept. 11-12th TFM will be hosting a charity event for Juvenile Diabetes and my dh and I are volunteering to sell tickets for their gift baskets. They will be selling, hamburgers, all beef hot dogs, and old fashioned Root beer floats with ice cream. at really dirt cheap prices, and all the money goes to a great cause.

While waiting for Earl to come tonight, I am searing some Wild Alaskan Coho Salmon for dinner with wild rice and julienne vegetables, sauteed with white wine.

A couple of weeks ago my h was thinking of relocating with his job and asked me to go online and see where the Fresh Markets were located in conjunction of his relocation status. We actually save on food, because it is so natural and pure that we eat less and there is virtually no waste. When I buy extra at sales, I just pop the meat or fish in my Food Saver bags and it is good for 6 mos. with no freezer burn.

On the other hand, Bmateo- it's a great place to go if you're thinking of eating healthier. Id' want to try new things if they look more attractive to me- glossy, shiny veggies on the stand vs. smothered in plastic wrap or peeking out of a layer of ice in the freezer
