Does anyone else prefer the way Domino's used to make their pizzas in the past?
Nowadays they use some kind of garlic bread. I love garlic bread. But it doesn't seem to work for them. It tastes like something I might have tried to do when I was a kid. Combining a piece of garlic bread with tomato sauce, cheese, etc. But the flavors just don't work together. It's like a gimmick thing and you can't even have a normal crust.
Ugh. I used to really love Domino's when I was a kid. But they have completely changed. I've had their pizza about twice in the last 5 years. The first time I tried their new crust as an option. Then I got it again yesterday and that seems to be the only option other than a thin crust that I haven't yet tried. I don't think I'm going to be returning unfortunately.
Probably trying to save on costs. It seems that the major pizza chains have: started to skimp on ingredients, charge higher prices, or a combination of thee two.
Maybe it's just the store you're going to. I find Dominos to be one of the better chain pizzas. I like their pan pizzas and stuffed cheesy bread. Their Spinach & Feta Artisan pizza is also very good.

We were never able to eat Dominoes after daughter ended up with an allergic reaction to the tomato sauce they used to use. Pizza Hut was the same way back when she was little, but changed it again to the better stuff. Here, we eat Pizza Hut when we get pizza, but MIL prefers Papa John's.
I wonder if different franchises taste different, because the Domino's where I live is really good. Was never too impressed with Domino's pizza, but it tastes decent here.
If I had a choice of any chain pizza made from the recipe of thirty years ago or the same chain pizza recipe made from today's recipe, I'd take the chain pizza from thirty years ago without hesitation.
