I used to go to a food mall in Sydney for lunch occasionally. They had a huge variety of food from different parts of the world and a range of dietary options but the longest line was always for McD's. I had one of their burgers many years ago but prefer Burger King or KFC if we're not in the U.S. I keep my eyes carefully averted from the kitchen when we eat out, no matter where it is.

Just like the occasional glass of wine, the once-in-a-while Big Mac won't kill you. The problem is not fast food. The problem is self-control.
You said a mouth full there and hit the nail on the head. If McDonald's was as bad as some say, people would be dying like flies instead of just getting fat because of lack of self-control. I go there myself and have to admit I don't always make the wisest choices.

I went an a week long trip one time and realized a long ways down the road that I left my diabetes meds at home. I ate at McDonalds every day. You just have to make the right choices in the right quantities.

Yep, I always see them packed, by all bits and all sorts, especially in NYC, all times of day. It seems like a ton of people like to go there even just for coffee deals. I can't eat most of their food (nothing to do with fast food, just something about their food). The only thing I've been able to get from there without feeling like I'm gonna qwerp besides ice cream and drinks like orange juice is the sausage biscuit.

Though I did recently try the steak egg and cheese on a biscuit for the first time just because. It was fast food tasty. I don't eat out much, though, so I rarely go there. Maybe three or four times a year to get an SB and a milk, and I usually prefer Wendy's if I'm in the mood for a cheapie fast food fix.
