We were eating at a restaurant an hour and a half before closing and one of the waitresses started mopping the floor. She made her way to our table and asked if we could lift our feet while she mopped under our table - LOL. I suppose management didn't pay anyone past closing.

Many were mentioned from previous posts, but here's my list anyway.

1. Long wait for the waiter to come take our orders
2. Long wait for the waiter to bring us our drinks (including the tap water/sparkling)
3. Long wait for the waiter to come give us the check
4. Long wait for the waiter to come give us the change
5. The fact that I have to leave tips for poor service
6. Missing side orders
7. The expensive salads or any type of greens!

Seems like I am having bad luck every time it go out to eat.

Last trip, we are seated at one of the national sit down hamburger chain restaurants. Waiter immediately comes over and takes our drink order. I cannot decide between a beer or a soda. I ask for a glass of water while I think about it. The drinks come and he takes our order. I order my burger and ask for a soda. Burger comes, no soda. I tell the waiter that my soda was forgotten and off he disappears for 10 minutes before returning. Meanwhile, I bite into my burger to find it raw. When the warier returns with my drink, I tell him about the burger. He apologizes and takes it back to be remade. The burger arrives 20 minutes later burnt to a crisp, not well done, but more like a carbon burger.

The time before this, we went to a sit-down, locally own restaurant. The booth we were in contained the thermostat. I did not notice this until a waitress came over and asked us to turn it off because it was too cold. I begrudgingly complied.

Ten minutes later, a plate of sizzling fajita came out and filled the room with smoke. Waitress #2 came over and asked us to turn on the thermostat because it was too smokey. I peered over my glasses, gave her a look and turn it on.

Five minutes later waitress #3 comes over and asks us to turn the thermostat off. I looked at her and said, "No I will not. We have had our meal interrupted three times to adjust the thermostat. If we are interrupted one more time we are leaving." Needless to say we haven't been back.

This is one time I wish I had implemented "Dick Tips" when I sat down.

Definitely when you want to get the heck out and they just will not bring you the check.

I've seen some pretty bad food served though. Like undercooked pancakes or burnt toast. why would you serve that to your customer ?

This only happned to me once, and it was at an airport restaurant, so maybe their standards are lower...but I order eggs and toast, and the waiter brought my eggs out but no toast. He started walking away and I asked about my toast and he said "it'll be out in a few minutes". Who eats their toast after they've already eaten their eggs? I like to dunk my toast into the eggs, and to me not to have them at the same time ruined the whole breakfast. Was I supposed to sit there and watch my eggs get cold waiting for my toast? Is it really that hard to time the toast to be ready when the eggs are? I ended up waiting, but it was almost 10 minutes, and I spent the whole time in a state of anxiety over it, lol.
