We go out to lunch or dinner several times a week. Our choice of where to go is often limited by what others select, but when we select it's nearly always something that I cannot cook at home. In no particular order:

Asian especially Thai, Vietnamese and Chinese (Japanese and Korean occasionally)
Wood oven cooked pizza
Mediterranean, Greek, Middle Eastern
Cuban
Mexican (though I do cook that at home quite well)

Out of town or when we are traveling, we eat at what is good locally. NOT in the tourist places.

My parents were all about home-cooking and healthful cooking, so our family only ever ate out on special occasions. That was typically at medium to high end places or occasionally, like when returning from a trip, a variety of low-medium end sit-down restaurants. We also tried to eat at local restaurants as much as possible, not chains. But some chains are pretty impressive, like Bonefish Grill.

Now that I live alone I still try to stick to home-cooking, but I'll occasionally stop by a local cafe or a casual fast food place, like Chipotle.

I don't frequent expensive restaurants as much as the others, I would say once a year for the expensive ones and maybe twice a month for others. We used to frequent the expensive ones once a month when we were in a different financial state.

I see no entry for "bowling alley bar".

My wife and I enjoy all types of restaurants. We love moderate places and inexpensive local "Mom and Pop" places. Fast food only when it's absolutely necessary!

I live in NYC and I eat out fairly frequently. I most often go to Chopt, Just Salad, or Sweet Greens (which are salad places, salad is my favorite food) or to Chipotle. I go to restaurants sometimes but mostly stick to places where I can quickly get my food and eat it outside.

I rarely eat anything out that I can make as well, as easily, or better at home.
