Aww, that's too bad that they changed the packaging. They were an awesome little snack and I loved the glass jars. They tasted good coming out of a chilled glass jar. Would love to be able to stock up on them nowadays to keep on hand for snacks when you don't want to go to the trouble of making a real shrimp cocktail. I will pass on the new one with the plastic packaging. Eating out of plastic is just unappetizing.

gr8cakes, I am not sure if there is a Shop-Rite around here, never heard of it.

I remember them, too. People used them as a glass afterwards.

Still have three of them. But they were rendered obsolete by Shell gas station glasses.

I remember when we used to first buy them they were like .50 each. Talking about them makes me wish they still made them like they used to at the beginning and I had some in the fridge.

THx for the SHopRite tip, next time we're in NJ, will have to look for them (I do miss SHopRite and the double coupons (not sure if they still double though but their prices were pretty darn good and they had an excellent selection of almost everything even if we had to pay .25 for the shopping cart, lol)).

My mom still has the little glass jars they came in. I would like to buy them again for her since she is elderly and it is hard for her to stand for a while. Looked everywhere for them, no one sells them.

I was thinking about those just the other day. Haven't seen them in ages. I get the frozen shrimp trays with a cup of cocktail sauce sometimes. Those are pretty good.

I looked all over to find a place to order them. Amazon has the sauce but not the shrimp cocktail. That's it. With the exception of Safeway all of the grocery chains that carry the brand seem to be eastern. There is no Safeway within at least two hundred miles of me.

When I checked walmart.com I noted that it came up as a previous search so people are looking for them.

I remember them well and always had some in the refrigerator. They were great for a quick snack.

I just remembered these and realized that I have not seen them in stores in recent memory. She must have bought them at a plain grocery store because there weren't any specialty stores around in the 80s.

Has anyone seen these, or know where to find them nowadays¿

I remember them as well. We did, however usually have the "real thing" in our house. Dad would go to the fresh fish market and buy fresh jumbo shrimp. He always made homemade sauce, added a little lettuce and celery to the shrimp cocktail dish in the bottom and put the shrimp on top.

The little ones you mentioned were edible and worked when we were first married and I could afford shrimp, plus the jars were re-usable as juice glasses.
