They're crazy expensive-but I adore macadamia nuts, and eat them regularly.

soak those raw nuts before consumption, i find them to be 100 times easier to digest this way. they are a great substitute for breads and the like...just find raw recipes for nuts.

Raw almonds are my go to snacks at work. It's better in terms of nutrition and damage build up in your body than things like chips, pretzels, cookies. It doesn't spike your blood sugar either.

Nuts also packs lots of calories. Not suitable for people looking to lose lots of weight unless you can switch your main source of calories over.

this is a problem that many of us face: they are very good for us: lots of vitamins plus an excellent source of fiber, but, as you say; high in calories. Of course the secret is to have them in your diet but not over due it.Most of us have trouble realizing what a serving size really should be.

I suspect in a few months time there will be another report claiming nuts are bad for your health and/or reduce your life expectancy, such is my cynicism
