I really like Tabasco but its kinda pricey for the little bottle (57ml) it comes in and i'm forever running out of the stuff,, Sriracha is just as good and about the same price and comes in a nice big container (740ml)

Sriraja Panich is similar to Shark brand, you might want to try that one too. They're both not as thick or sweet as the Huy Fong version.
Yes, now that I see the photo, I know I've seen the Shark Brand at the Asian Grocers. I just never turned the bottle to the side to see "The Shark"! Thanks much.

The Fed Ex guy just delivered my three bottles of Shark Brand Sriracha. I tore it open and did a quick taste test.
Results: Shark Brand tastes a bit smoother, sweeter, less vinegar-y. I've been eating a lot of raw Serrano lately, so the spiciness seemed mild but lingers a bit.

I put about two teaspoons of Shark Brand into a small bowl of leftover spaghetti. It added a sweet spiciness that was not overwhelming but created some decent mouth warmth and a bit of extra umami. Nice!

I have tasted it, and I work at subway and we have a creamy version. It's way too spicy for me but I know a lot of people who enjoy the kick they get from it. My brother puts it on everything. If I were to put it a batch of chili then just a squirt. I like to taste y food and not have my mouth on fire.

Now, this red hot culinary phenomenon is starring in its own documentary.

Thirteen days later, I can report that my first 25oz. bottle of Shark Brand is down by a third and I definately prefer it to the standard Huy Fong.

I find the Shark Brand to be a bit more versatile for multiple cuisines. I used it today on some home-made roast beef-potato hash and it was a great spicy substitute for ketchup. The Huy Fong would have been a bit too vinegary/garlicky IMHO.

My Sriracha-loving step-daughter tried some of my Shark Brand and asked me to order her a bottle. I just let her take one of the two spares in the pantry. [I think I just earned some step-dad points!]

Thanks for the tip! I'll try to remember Shark Brand when I buy the sauce - I do not like overt vinegar taste in my hot sauces.

I love Tabasco myself, but find that it is sometimes a little too vinegary on some foods. In foods where I don't want the vinegary taste, I use Sriracha.

I went out for Pho today and also ordered a side of fried egg rolls. I added some Sriracha on the egg rolls - yummy!
