yum! I love thanksgiving style dinners. On another note does nobody here call casseroles "hotdishes" They do that out here. Mandarin orange jello, deviled eggs, home-made stuffing, green bean casserole, turkey with real gravy, pumpkin pie... the highlight of my childhood. My grandmother had the best thanksgivings, in front of the fireplace along the river watching the football game with the father and 2 uncles and their kids....

We have the traditional menu on Thanksgiving ( turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, and cranberry sauce).

Since my brother's birthday is on Christmas Day, he has final say on the main dish. It is usually Virginia Baked Ham or prime rib.

My family has the same sides, but ham for Christmas instead of turkey. Unfortunately I hate ham.

While we will have ham and turkey just like we did at Thanksgiving we will also have lasagna and seafood as well. Christmas is a much bigger event with many more people and many different taste satisfy.

So far this is what has bee requested:

Turkey and Dressing
Cajun Bar-Be-Qued Shrimp
Lasagna
Corn and Rice Casserole
Pecan Crusted Sweet Potatoes
Green Beans
Yeast Rolls and/or Cheddar Garlic Biscuits
Watergate Salad

This is just a few items. There will be lots of other stuff. I will spend a lot of time in the kitchen, but it is worth it. I love my kids, my grandkids, and my other kids who will all be in and out all day.
