I had heard that Bone Fish Grill was excellent, but did not find it so. What do other diners think of it?

I like it (don't love it). But I also think it depends on what you order. In other words, stick to the basics. The Bang Bang Shrimp is always good. I had the special which was a lobster tail and a steak one night. The lobster tail was overcooked and the steak was tough. I think next time I will just stick to grilled fish as an entree.

I went once to the one in Little Rock and it was terrible. The server actually forgot to write down my meal and brought everyone else's meal out and then said "Oh, you're not eating tonight?" I told him to skip it and picked food off my sister's and niece's plates.

I tried it for the first time a few weeks, maybe a month ago here in Murfreesboro, TN.

It was alright. Kinda high for my liking price wise. Not sure if I would go again. Kinda knowledgeable staff but I could have done without the scripted service.

The 10 sauces mix was good.

I think it does a few things well, but overall I'd rate it an average middle-of-the-road chain. If you're accustomed to fresh/local/sustainable/seasonal/heirloom foods, it's going to pale in comparison. If Applebee's is a big night out, then it's going to shine.

I wasn't that impressed with it either. Most people who think it's really good seafood live in places where they don't have really good seafood. (CO for example)

It has always been exceptional when I have eaten at Bonefish Grill. I never order seafood at a steak restaurant and I never order steak at a seafood restaurant. I get the Bang Bang Shrimp and grilled grouper.

Went for appetizers one night and loved it. Raved about it to my brother. We went and were very underwhelmed. Gave them another try and once again it was just very mediocre. Oh well, done.

Too expensive for what you get.

I think that is my problem. I live near the coast. Also, the coastal Southern dishes are different than some other parts of the country, and they didn't have any of the favorites I am used to. I ordered the crab cakes, and they were not good at all. Even the mashed potatoes did not taste good. How do you mess those up? It was in Georgia, yet they had made no effort to include anything that appealed to the locals. I mean Cheddars was full, and there weren't many people at Bone Fish. I guess that should have been our clue.
