I'm fine with anyplace requiring a minimal amount of dress ... things like "no swimsuits" in resort restaurants or requiring a shirt for men. But to require what kind of a shirt it can be (or more precisely, what kind of shirt it cannot be) ... I'm just not going to go for it, personally.

This is only one night a month at that restaurant, not all the time. The owner got the idea after attending a buddhist retreat. The point is to focus fully on the way the food smells, tastes, feels in your mouth, etc. Be fully "present" in the meal, in other words. I wouldn't be able to do it, I'd forget and say something out loud!
