Too long of a story, but ex hubby( best friend but can't be together) is buying the house for our sons, grandkids. My hubby and ex are fishing buddies and it has been all hands on deck!
So this week we are back on normal schedule and I am cooking once again.

I made a stew that came out really good, served over noodles. Just floured and browned some hunks of sirloin, and simmered 3 hours in a can of tomato sauce, about a cup of red wine, and a packet of onion soup mix.
Tonight: Standing rib roast which will sit on a bed of carrots, celery mushrooms and onions, roasted in the oven, steamed spinach and cauliflower casserole. I Use Anne Burrell's recipe for the rib roast comes out perfect every time. Standing Rib Roast Recipe : Anne Burrell : Food Network
Going to try corn dogs on stick for the girls who are having some friends over. I've never made them before so if anybody has any suggestions or tips I would appreciate it. Can't decide on sides but it can't be anything fried. Suggestions?
