My DD popped over yesterday and with that sweet charm we all know daughters have, asked, "Mom, can you please do me a HUGE favor? Make me 2 pumpkin loaves for our staff meeting please?" So, in addition to all the errands I have to get done, I'm making pumpkin loaves. No cooking, just baking. It's either going to be Texas Roadhouse and a sirloin steak, medium well with a loaded sweet potato and green beans with onion and bacon, honey rolls with cinnamon butter and ice tea, or Red lobster and stuffed mushrooms, lobster tail and baked potato and salad. Oh, I'm also making an ooey, gooey butter cake with toffee bits. I never splurge, so today is that day.

This afternoon I am going to attempt to make pierogies from scratch. This will be my first time. If they come out ok then we will have pierogies and a salad for dinner. If it is a failure then sandwiches and a salad.

I will make a meatloaf and put it in a casserole dish and add on top a mixture of brown sugar, ketchup and Dijon mustard and bake it in the oven. Served with rice. For dessert an apple pie with Cortland apples and a crumbly topping made from flour, sugar, grated cheddar cheese, melted butter.

It's been SO long since I've had a homemade apple pie! That sounds so good.

Tonight it's leftovers from last night's dinner. I roasted a 4-rib pork roast with a mix of baby Yukon golds, baby reds and baby blue potatoes and some sauteed spinach with garlic and oil and a squeeze of fresh lemon juice.

We are having a game hen, roasted with mashed sweet potatoes, cauliflower and a small cuke and tomato salad. We have a friend that actually still has a few fresh tomatoes. She gave us 3 today.

I did a lot of cooking and eating for Oktoberfest, so I thought that we'd eat something from the other side of Europe.

Tonight, pasta with home made taomato and sweet pepper sauce. A big green salad. Garlic bread and apple pie for those who desire desert.

A peach non-fat Greek yogurt, 2 slices of whole wheat challah bread with healthy-style margarine & strawberry spread and a mug of tea with a teaspoon of sugar & a bit of skim milk.
