We usually do read the labels, but we still eat what we really like. Our main concern is, like many people sodium content and trans fats. But who knows, next thing we will hear is; stop worrying about either and worry about who knows what, too many vitamins maybe.
I look at the sugar since I'm limited in the number of sugar grams, the fat grams (saturated especially) and the sodium content. The protein amount is also very important to me as I have to eat high protein items first, then other foods, if there is still room in the old tummy.
No wonder I have lately had an aversion to eggs. That list above is long!

I used to love eggs, but after I had stomach surgery, scrambled eggs were on the menu about 6 times a day as it was a high protein I could eat. Eggs and tuna were both on the list - I can't stand either one now!
