Give me medium rare all day long.
It's not blood!!!! :P

I's a matter of personal taste. People have the right to prepare their steak or any other food any way they choose. It's arrogant to try to superimpose your personal preferences on other people.

They don't like the taste of beef. Cooking the crap out of it removes taste. It transforms beef into something else entirely. I'm not sure what it is.

My entire family was raised to eat beef medium rare. I like it just under that. It is easy for me to grill steak that way.

I can tell all I need to know about a man's level of sophistication by how he orders his steak.

if someone likes their toast completely black, is that a matter of taste? the overcooked steak is burnt and lost its value as a tasty piece of meat. I don't like to question people's personal taste but this isn't personal taste; its a overcooked piece of meat.

.
In the past I ate all of my steaks, well done untill I turned 30 years old.
Over the years I have changed and cooked them less and less.

I am now 65 and last year I started eating them Rare,
and not more than Medium Rare, and loving the steaks even more.

Prime Rib, Ribeye, Porter House

.

This comes up every couple of months or so here. I don't eat a lot of steak, but I used to like well done, now I prefer medium when I do have it. I still don't know why some folks seem to take it so personally when someone wants theirs well done. It's just an opinion As long as it's consumed I don't think it's "ruining a good piece of meat" or a matter of folks not knowing any better. To each their own!

No, it's personal taste and no one else's business. Live and let live. You eat what you want in the way in which you prefer to eat it and respect the right of others to do the same. Keep your nose out of other peoples steak.
