I usually visit a locally owned joint for burger and fries. But today I was out doing some tasks and decided to go to McDonalds, a restaurant I haven't been in over 10 years. I ordered a quarter pounder and large fries and it just appears as if the portions have been downsized pretty heavily from the last time I visited. The "large" fries seemed like a medium/small. I still prefer to treat myself to the local joint because they offer huge burgers and large cups of fries. I'm not a fatty, but every once awhile I like a nice artery clogging lunch.

Why I prefer a fast food over a local café ?

The ridiculous price the local cafes charge for coffee.

The slightly higher price for food might be worth it.
The doubling the price of coffee sure is not !

They got rid of the "Super Sizes" a few years ago and went back to their original sizes. A small fries is still what a medium (or large in the 1970s) was.

I can get a huge burger and a big cup fries of at a local joint for maybe a buck or two more from what McDonalds charges. It fills me up more and I can usually skip a meal. I have always considered eating out an optional luxury so I have no problem splurging. Although now that I have moved into a rented room with no real cooking facilities it has become a necessity.

I figured this was the case. What a shame. I know Mickey D's isn't high quality nourishment but I always enjoyed a nice filling supersize meal. Well it's going to be either Five Guys or the local joint for me from now on.

All the places are downsizing. The fish sandwich has really shrunk at McD's . I used to love McD's but, they just aren't worth it anymore.

They have all downsized, except Wendy's. I do not eat fast food, but I recall reading an article on it. BK and McDs have downsized their meat.

McDonald's got a lot of grief from that show "Super Size Me", the portions went downsize since then
Thanks for ruining it for everyone! A large fry from McDonald's filled the bag!

Downsizing is good! I can't even finish a regular cheeseburger, medium fries, and a small coke. I hate when they try to push bigger soft drinks on me with a "meal." I prefer to pay extra to have less to throw away.
