Definitely the green chile cheeseburger! Of course, tacos run a very, very close second.

I disagree that the pasty is the Michigan sandwich. Maybe in the U.P. In my part of the state it's the coney dog.

I'm in Jersey, but I'd like to try all of your state sandwiches!

I will claim the French Dip as my sandwich being a native Californian. The Texas brisket sandwich is good, too. Having lived in Arkansas for 20 years I can say that a fried bologna sandwich is also a favorite of mine.

I use to go to UNM, and Frontier was awesome, green chili is godly. I will definitely have to visit the Quer for my favorite green chili.

Being in Mexico City currently, the go-to sandwich here (like in much of Mexico) is the torta. Tortas come in many varieties, but the most popular have egg, cheese, some kind of meat (like ham or even hot dogs), onion, tomato, refried beans, avocado. The Torta Hawaiana has pineapple added and the Torta Milenesa has a deep-fried pork or beef steak inside with all the fixings. There are a lot of variations of the delicious torta!

I have never been able to figure out why I'd want to order a torta when tacos are available.
