Well, keep in mind that ramen restaurants have been trending up in the US for several years, and what they serve is on a whole 'nother level from what you had in college. Fresh, hand made ramen in a thick, savory soup is as delectable as fresh, handmade pasta in Italy.

If you read the article I link to, Keizo was actually in Japan, learning how to make top quality ramen, when he came across a Japanese specialty consisting of ground pork patties served on noodlebuns, and he said to himself "Why not combine my two favorite foods, ramen noodles and all beef hamburgers? So he came back to Brooklyn and proceeded to do exactly that. And he's hardly had a chance to sit down since.
I was planning to say good ramen is yummy and you beat me.

I'm surprised this fusion food didn't get into the main stream cuisine a few years ago in California given our huge Asian population. Korean pork tacos were all the rage in SoCal a few years ago on the fusion food trucks.

Love me some well made ramen. With all the rain were getting this week might make a trip to get me one.
I haven't seen this yet. Weird.

No. I want a burger, loaded, the noodles would not be up to the task. Ramen belongs in a bowl. Kudos for creativity though.

I just made one, turned out better than I hoped. Its definitely different, noodles are a lot more prominent than I expected, kind of a weird texture. Pretty good, I probably wouldn't make it often because its a lot more trouble than a burger or a bowl of noodles by itself. I'd try one from a restaurant but I don't know when I'll have a chance.
