Usually once a week or so. Occasionally there are lunches out at work, also, but not that frequently. I usually take a lunch from home to save money so that I can have my Friday night dinner out!

Sometimes I go for a few months without buying any restaurant food and sometimes I have restaurant food a few times a week.

I do a fair amount of carry-out. I live downtown and can walk to a bunch of different restaurants, plus my kitchen is small and was designed more for heating up leftovers than actually cooking. On an average week, I probably get carryout or delivery about 3 times, and I'll go out to dinner another 1-2 times. Rest of the time I'll either cook or heat up leftovers.

On the plus side, I take advantage of the various happy hour and late-night happy hour specials, which helps keep costs down.

I also tend to get lunch out 2-3 days a week because it's good for my sanity to physically leave the office.

What we spend on those nights can be as little as 30 to. 40.00 per person or as high as 100.00 pp (only me and hubby). The expense is high but the experience is so well worth it.

We use to eat out more, but would rather spend the money at home with quality ingredients.
This was hubby and I almost 2 times a month when we had better paying jobs. Not anymore, When we used to take my mom out with us sometimes the bill at these high end places ended up being about $300 including alcohol. If it were up to me I'd go out to eat 7 nights a week. I have a lot of great restaurants in my area.

Very rarely here. This area is a real "restaurant desert". Oddly enough, even the Mexican restaurants here (on the border) are no good. We're in the process of moving, so that will change.
I love fine dining, and enjoy it when we travel away from this place.

Enjoy this next trip around the Sun! Have a good one!

As for myself, we eat out about twice a month in winter. More in Summer. We go out for everyone's birthday, including our late teen - 20s kids, if they are around.

Price varies from $15 to $30. We like ethnic restaurants, hidden gems and some fine dining.

With the exception of an occasional Chipotle, we don't eat fast food and rarely eat at chains.
If we get one as a gift from a niece or nephew, we use it. We aren't snobs.

I'm lucky to live in an area with loads of great restaurants and try to go out as much as I can just to check out places that look interesting. Most weeks my wife and I do one nicer dinner together as a night out (about $150-200 including plenty of drinks). We usually try to check out a new place or meet friends for a night out. We also go out once a week with our daughter on days when our schedules are too hectic to cook, usually to pretty solid places for about $100 for the three of us. 4 or 5 times a year we'll go all out for something stupid expensive.

I love to cook, and really like going to new places as a form as research as much as anything else. Last week I had some Peruvian Causitas (basically mashed potato with lime and chilies) that were great, and I'll be trying to make that at home sometime soon.

2-4 times a month, mostly take-outs. We have several places with good food, but inside it's either cold, or crowded with unhappy looking people with screaming kids, wearing trashy clothes, or both. One place I like to actually sit in (and where menu choice is not limited to burgers) is pretty expensive ($26-30/main dish, $15-18 salads), and parking is bad, so it is definitely not for everyday meals.
