By eating restaurant food I include both eating in a restaurant and buying take-out---as long as the food is cooked by restaurant. Excluding such fast food as McDonalds, burgers, sandwiches, pizza,..... In other words a "real full meal". (It's ambiguous but hope the point is clear enough for practicalilty)

Also how much is your average cost per person per meal when eating restaurant food?

A couple of times a month. I haven't found anything I can't cook better myself at home.

Probably 5 times a week, or so, on a regular (non business travel week). For a week when I travel, every meal.

2-3 times a week usually. When on vacation or away from home alot more obviously. Average cost per person, something like $30.

Maybe once or twice per month? My husband is fairly anti-eating out regularly, and some of that has rubbed off.

Unless it is some type of formal, special occasion/some upscale place, I generally keep meal cost under 15 bucks when eating out...sometimes significantly under.

Typically, 6 times per week. I live near several excellent options, and they are hyper competitive, so the deals are sometimes excellent. I don't face the $30 a meal situation; our local Chop House has 8 oz Prime Rib with baked potato for $11 5 nights per week.

6 meals usually costs me about $100. I usually end up having a few steaks/week, a few chicken based, and a few Italian or Mexican meals.

Just note that $30 includes a drink or two with or before the food

Oh, yes, we hardly ever drink when out, which keeps the bill down. We have a nice bar at home, and my husband is military and an instructor, and we live on base...and he prefers not to do his drinking in places his students/sailors frequent, i.e. everywhere local. Just a leadership thing.

I can understand that. Often when I'm in a new City and if I don't know many people, I will ask what I think looks a sharp person if they can recommend a good value for money restaurant and sometimes I specify what type of cuisine on occasions. Usually their advice turns out to be very good!
