I hate the uncertainty of the tipping business - just tell me what it costs to deliver/ serve and I'd be happy to pay.
It does not cost more to deliver or serve a more expensive meal so why should it be a percentage? If I order a $ 200 pizza (maybe with a beluga caviar topping - lol) , the delivery person should not be getting a 15 to 20% tip - it is the same effort and time and weight as delivering a 10 dollar pizza.
I think every business should exploit the tipping business - similar to the restaurant industry. Soon the garbage collector will expect a tip every day, the newspaper delivery person should be tipped every day, the mailman should be tipped every day ( how about 15 to 20% of the money orders he brings home), the Fedex and UPS guy should be tipped for every package ( more on the days with bad weather). Really???????
