Christmas desserts-
What's your favorite? I'm making Pannetone bread pudding with Amaretto cream sauce. Filling and yummy.

I usually make a Trifle. I use the Silver Palate recipe.
It can be made a couple days in advance.
It involves homemade custard, broken up amaretti, pound cake, some sherry, strawberries, and whipped cream.
Sometimes I do plum pudding with hard sauce. I use the Joy of Cooking recipe for that.

Pannetone-is almost a cake/bread like loaf. It's Italian-with dried fruit-it's found in specialty stores-sometime Costco-and usually this time of year.

Nikzone-No problem. Cut Pannetone into 1" cubes and put in buttered casserole. Mix 8 eggs, 1 1/2 c heavy cream, 2 1/2 c milk, 1 1/4 c sugar. Pour over Pannetone. Let sit at least 30 min and push cubes down occassionally. Bake 350 for 45 min.
Sauce- 1/2 c milk, 1/2 c whipping cream, 3T sugar, 1/4 c Amaretto, 2 tsp cornstarch.
Hope you enjoy!
