From my side of the family, I don't like Aquavitt. (sp?) A strange tasting Scandinavian liquour.

I first read about Cynar in a bartending manual, where it was labeled "the worst-tasting liquor ever distilled." I see it in our local liquor superstore, and am morbidly curious. I do love artichokes, but am dubious.

I do love aquavit, though...it's traditional flavoring agent is caraway, though lots of different herbs and spices can be used.
