A SUBWAY is the greatest place around? That's pretty sad.
Oh no! Don't feel that way - we're very pleased with it!
If you were to ask me while eating at the local pizzeria I'm sure I'd say that it's the best place around.
It just depends on my current yum-thing.
I don't eat there very often - actually, it has been a few years. But back in the day, I ordered a foot-long once and saved the other half for later. BMT all the way!
Not around here they don't charge that, and we eat there every Friday on our way to our shop. Subway is a much better alternative than McDonalds or any of the other fast food places. They run the $4.50 special, a different sub each day of the week, and you get a 6 inch sub, bag of chips, and a 20 oz drink. Plus, they run the $ 5.00 featured footlongs every month.
If they tried to charge me 50 cents to toast it I would be on the phone with corporate while still in the store.
Never have been charged for toasted sandwiches at Subway here.
For lunch on the run, it can be a much more healthful alternative to burger joints; I probably hit Subway (I work all over and often eat on the run as it were) once or twice a month. I rarely order the 12" option even though it's cheaper, because I think most of the sandwiches get too soggy and ickily moist if not eaten right away.
Some places have a local tax on heated sandwiches or something...
Yep - it's considered "prepared food" if it has been heated and tax is charged on "prepared food." If it is cold it isn't considered "prepared food" and isn't taxed. So, it's not a fee added by Subway, it's a tax levied by local "gubment."
Damn that is a stiff one. I eat at Subway maybe once a year I'd tell them to toss the sandwich in the trash and not pay if they trued to charge me an extra 50cents.
I prefer to seek out local deli's and sandwich shops. Smart phones and the internet make that easy nowadays.
