Tab and Fresca!

Diet Rite Cola, with or without cyclamates (which later were shown to not be as "deadly" as originally thought), was much better than Tab, but harder to find.

I completely lost my taste for soda several years ago when I got a Sodastream. I go through sparkling water like crazy, and never even crave soda. All I ever liked was the carbonation, anyway...I don't like sweet things all that much.

Definitely not buying as much canned/boxed processed food

Soda

Ice cream- DH would consume it all in one sitting if I had it in the freezer unless I bought a flavor he didn't like (ie mint chocolate chip) so it was just easier not to have in the house as something nice to have on hand. He could totally eat a pint a day just like his dad

Packaged cookies -- Chips Ahoy, Keebler Fudge Strips, Hostess Cupcakes and Ho Ho's and Snowballs. I went through a young adult phase where I craved all that Hostess crap because growing up I always envied the kids who had them in their lunch. My parents NEVER bought any packaged cookies or snacks or sweets. Now I wouldn't touch that stuff on a dare. I really don't even have a sweet tooth. Unfortunately I still love love love kettle cooked potato chips.

Soda stopped doing it for me a long time ago, today it's lots of mineral water like San Pellegrino or perrier, especially with a squeeze of lime.

Normal chocolate. A few years I accidentally bought a bar of Ghirardelli 100% premium baking bar and became seriously addicted to it to the point of getting antsy when there's none in the house lol... it's soooooooo good and I love the bitteriness ...sighhhhh

Margarine..I quit that crap after I went to culinary school and only buy unsalted butter now. My mother used to buy margarine until I told her that the butter in the fridge took it personally lol

white pastas & rices...I only use whole wheat and brown now.

flavored yogurts. I buy plain and add in whatever else I want if anything at all.

Cassia. What is sold here that they call cinnamon. Cassia is actually cinnamons cousin. I only use real cinnamon that my best friend sends me from Sri Lanka (Ceylon)

Curry powder. I either make my own garam masala or use the incredible curry powder mix that, again I get from my best friend.

Cows milk. I much prefer almond or coconut milks.
