I find popcorn a little blasé sometimes unless I put on loads of butter which I don't care to do too often. Anything I can sprinkle on or whatever to give it some flavor?

I don't like using butter because it's difficult to get it spread evenly and lightly without soaking some pieces and missing others. So I use the margarine that comes in a spray bottle (this is the ONLY time I use margarine). I don't use it so much for flavoring as I do for just making the popcorn just moist enough to hold seasoning. The spray helps spread it evenly.

Once I've lightly sprayed, I'll use Lawry's, Old Bay, or Zatarain's Creole seasoning. Or I'll use a little garlic salt and some grated parmesan.

White cheddar popcorn seasoning would be good. Some people sprinkle tabasco on their popcorn, I tried it and it made some pieces soggy. Most times I just use the fine butter flavored popcorn salt and load it with fine pepper.

This sounds weird, but its really good - sprinkle some Bragg's Liquid Amino's on it, then sprinkle brewer's yeast after that.

There are some seasoned salts you can use to give it a bit of a kick. Also you can buy certain brands of specialty popcorn such as Habanero popcorn or barbecue popcorn.

Try popping it in grapeseed oil with a tablespoon of coconut oil and then sprinkle with seasoned salt and some nutmeg. It's delicious!

Lightly coat with butter, then grate some asiago cheese onto it and mix thoroughly.

OMG I thought I was the only person on the planet who did this LOL! Gosh, I haven't had Bragg's in ages.

I get the buttered microwave popcorn - the good stuff (lots of butter, not low fat) and sprinkle brewer's yeast on it. It has to be the big yellow flaky kind - not the powdered in a jar kind.

It has a sweet, cheesy, nutty flavor. Way better than it sounds. You'd be amazed. I originally started doing this in my hippy days because it's good for you, but then I just used it because I honestly really like the taste.

The last time I bought any was from a Nugget Grocery Store - they are a regional store in the Sacramento area. They had it in bulk bins.

Nutritional yeast is pretty good.

So are a ton of Penzeys seasoning blends, which come in salt blends and in salt-free blends. So is grated parmesan cheese and granulated garlic, or shallot salt.
