I drink copious amounts of diet soda. The biggest issue I have is that if I overdo, late in the day, I will get a nice problem with reflux. So, I limit after 4 pm. But during the day, I might 3-4 cans of diet. Need the caffeine and it's too hot in Alabama most of the year to be sitting around downing coffee. I do try iced coffee now sometimes.

Other big issue with the diet stuff, I think, is that some of us equate drinking with eating. We are really HUNGRY, not thirsty, so because we are drinking diet, and we snack, we think we are doing better. Not really the case.

What people fail to realize is at the same time the energy drink market boomed.

I think you're better off eating a couple of cookies or a small brownie with some skim milk or water. Probably a lot more satisfying than soda, and you won't want it as often.

I'll drink what I please.

There are three things that I really really hate in this world.

1. Food elitists
2. Conservatives
3. Democrats

Skim milk is disgusting. Water has no taste. But I'll take the brownie and wash it down with a Mtn. Dew

I don't keep it at home anymore unless I am expecting company. I will drink it while out to eat or pick up a fountain soda at the gas station every now and then, but my consumption has gone way down over the past two years for two reasons. Health, and price.

Maybe you're addicted to the fizz. Try Club Soda. No calories. No sugar. Plenty of carbonation.

I find myself having seltzer water more than soda. I had soda more often when I was younger, but found myself being thirstier often. I may have soda when going out, for convenience purposes.

My husband once loved Coke but I helped ween him off of them. They are too costly and not good for you.

I tip my glass of Dr Pepper in your direction.

By the way, music elitists are just as reprehensible as food elitists.
