I go for gelato first and ice cream second . . . and generally avoid either with egg yolks in it. gelato especially isn't meant to have eggs in it.

FroYo last.

I never eat frozen custard (so gross!).

The very best ice cream I've ever had was that produced by the Naval Academy Dairy Farm and served at the Midshipmen's mess at the Naval Academy. It put the best of the "super-premium" ice creams to shame. The milk and butter was the best, too. Budget concerns finally closed the farm several years ago and the Naval Academy gets its dairy products from commercial sources now.

My friend on the east coast moved to the midwest and asked where she could get frozen custard.
At that time, I didn't know what she was talking about. Turned out she was talking about
soft serve (here in the Chicago area and Northern Indiana). Interesting that soft serve was
invented in Moline, Illinois and frozen custard in New York.
