For me, it's mostly shrimp & mussels due to price and convenience.

[quote=MJ7;34347607]How often do you eat the following:

Shellfish

Crustacean

Crab - Soft crabs, several times during the season, and try to freeze some for winter use. Steamed crabs maybe once or twice, sometimes more often. Crab soup many times. Crab cakes with fresh crab meat many times.
Crawfish - Got 5 pounds from my crab dealer once last year. Pretty good.
Lobster - Last time was several years ago in Maine. Crabs are so much more readily available here, and I like them better anyway.
Shrimp - Often.

Molluscs

Snails - Never. Never been anywhere that they were served. Not sure if I'd try them. Probably would, but I'd need to see the dish first.
Abalone - Never. Didn't get the chance the one time I was on the West Coast.
Clam - Sometimes. Not often. They're OK, but not a favorite.
Cockle - Never. Never seen them served.
Conch - Never. Wasn't feeling my best the couple of days I was at Key West.
Cuttlefish - Never. Never seen them served.
Loco - I've never heard of a mollusk by that name. (Checked it out. Chilean abalone. Never heard of it under that name, either.)
Mussel - I'll have a couple now and then. Like clams, they're OK, but not a favorite
Octopus - Never. My dad said that when he was a child in Italy (late 1920's), his mother would sometimes get a mess of baby octopus and put them whole in sauce in place of meatballs. But I've never had it.
Oyster - Raw, halfshell oysters just about every Sunday during football season when a friend brings them as game day food. Fried oysters several other times during the season.
Periwinkle - Never. Never seen them served.
Scallop - Often.
Squid - I'll have some calamari sometimes at Italian restaurants. Like clams and mussels, OK, but not a favorite.

I live in Baltimore.

I voted for 1-2 times per month but it is probably more like 2-5 times a month depending on what specials are available.

Shrimp, crab and lobster are the usual seafood that graces my table.

I'm a clam chowder junkie.

Love squid and octopus, too, but never think of them as mollusks. You learn something every day.

Cool, I believe 2-4 or 2-5 times a month would work out to fit in the 1-2 days a week category.

Never. I'm severely allergic to shellfish (even secondary contact) but I've heard that it's wonderful from people that can have it.

P.S. I have no idea why but I never noticed how close our usernames are until today. ;-)
