I'd pick Italian because it has chicken, salad, bread, not to mention the greatest comfort foods in the world!!! And Gelato... dang. I'm hungry now.

From the list I'd pick Chinese, I love Chinese food. But I was wondering if fried chicken could be considered an ethnic food. If so, I'd choose that. And figuring that it's only once a year, how bad could it be for me?

It isn't once a year the question is what ethnic food would you pick if you could only eat that particular ethnic food for one year.

I would have to go with American even though I love many other ethnic foods.

It would be either Thai food or middle easter/Persian. Both are super delicious, can be relatively healthy (i.e., not artery clogging like Italian) and has enough variety that I would never get bored with it.

So for me its Thai food or Middle Eastern/Persian food.

Middle-Eastern/Persian food, hands down -- for the reasons Chum Kiu cited above. Don't get me wrong, I love Mexican food of all stripes, Indian, Italian, Chinese too -- but I'd get bored and/or obese with a quickness.
