No, I just haven't had Cream Of Mushroom Soup alone, it has always been in casseroles; etc.

I love all the cream soups - they taste better with a can of milk versus the water. I will admit I never ate cream of mushroom; I only use that in casseroles. Maybe I'll give it a try one day

We've eaten cream of mushroom soup with the milk added as long as I can remember. That and a grilled cheese or some other kind of sandwich makes a great warm-up meal. I've always just thought of it as another soup that can also be used in casseroles etc.

I love cream of mushroom soup -- but I always add extra mushrooms. Sometimes I add canned mushrooms, but when I have them, I prefer to add fresh sliced mushrooms.

There was cream of mushroom soup before there were recipes that require cream of mushroom soup, so yes, it can and is eaten alone.
