Pigs in a Blanket - love 'em or leave 'em? (pancakes, breakfast)

When I hear pigs in a blanket, I think of breakfast sausage links wrapped in pancakes.
Was surprised that a lot of people think of stuffed cabbage rolls

Where I live NOW (northeastern PA)they call stuffed cabbage pigs in a blanket. What I come FROM it is cocktail sausages in dough.

For me, it's always been sausage links wrapped in fluffy pancakes.

The gal I work with thinks of hot dogs wrapped in crescent rolls. That actually sounds kind of good! LOL

In my world "Pigs In Blankets" are link sausages wrapped and baked in dough. (Cresent roll sounds about right...but that wasn't on the market when my mother made them.) I never make them; if I were going to do so I would use the precooked sausages to be sure they were done, or pre-cook the sausage.

I don't know if this is a mid-atlantic thing, but I only know pigs in a blanket as mini frankfurters wrapped in pie crust.

Used to love them as a kid! Perfect finger food.

When we were young and very broke, I made them from cut-up hot dogs and refrigerator biscuits, the kind you could buy for a quarter a tube.

I make them homemade, w/ mashed potatoes on the side...
