Interesting, but he's using a seedless, tasteless, melon. What do you do with a melon that has seeds?

Each person is responsible for dealing with seeds. We serve it up and the recipient has to deal with it.

I couldn't see how he was cutting the watermelon rind with the knife. Is he cutting it horizontally or on a diagonal?

It may be quick for him but I don't find slicing into a large watermelon all that easy. And unless you're piling the chunks into a fruit bowl you need the rind for a "holder."

I've had good luck using the smaller watermelons and a friend showed me a neat trick. Slice the watermelon in half so you have two rounds. Then slice each round into 3 or 4 more slices. Cut those in half and then cut each half into 3 or 4 triangular slices. You end up with these great triangle-shaped pieces with rind that are so much easier to eat than a big slice. Kids eat them like candy because they're so easy to handle and each piece is not huge.

I've tried this with regular-sized watermelon but the triangles are too long, so the smaller size works better. I agree with no kudzu on dealing with seeds.
