I'm trying to lose some weight before the summer and know I should incorporate a lot of chicken in my diet. I buy regular chicken breasts from Jewel and usually just cook them on a pan, but I just can't get them to taste good. It's not like they taste horrible, but they're just so bland. Last night, I even tried marinating them with some stir fry sauce, but it didn't help much.

I plan on buying a smoky joe grill this week. Will that help chicken taste better? Is that why chicken breasts at restaurants taste so much better? I would love for my chicken to taste like the chicken they use for burrito bowls at Chipotle.

Also, does it matter what brand of chicken breasts I get? The Jewel brand I get are really plump, so they are probably packed with hormones. Would that affect the taste? If I bought chicken breasts from Trader Joe's, would that make a difference?

Are you buying boneless chicken breasts? They aren't as flavorful as bone-in.

chicken breasts get awfully dry quickly. I don't like to grill them. Do you have a slow cooker? There's some good recipes in that forum. Here's a quick idea, cut them into strips, saute them in a little olive oil, or olive oil spray if you're that calorie conscious, with garlic salt, fresh ground pepper, and some Italian seasoning. Throw in some mushrooms and peppers if you have them. Tasty!
I like to then put them on some gluten free wraps and sprinkle a little mozzarella and/or asiago cheese on while they're still hot and wrap them up.

Yep, and thighs and drumsticks are juicy too. I never buy chicken breasts.

Chicken breast on its own can be rather flavorless, its usually the sauce that gives it a kick,
This week i cut up some chicken breast and fried it up in a big skillet then 5 minutes before it is done i poured a half bottle of ginger orange sauce over the chicken Cooked a few more minutes then served over rice with a side of mixed vegetable, no one was complaining

Heres a few other creative ideas.

The sauces and the dark meat are more caloric than plain steamed chicken. I like to drop boneless chicken breasts into a pot of boiling water...bring it back up to a boil....and shut off, remove from heat, cover and let sit 15. Nice poached chicken to do whatever you want .....like your own version of chipotle's taco bowl. I guess you could use the bone in and just cut the chicken off the bone when cool.
