Sometimes the opposite is annoying, like people eating pizza with a knife and fork. Although, recently I found myself doing that, but it was because I got a vegetable slice that was so loaded I wouldn't have been able to pick it up without all the vegetables falling off. But a plain piece of cheese pizza being eaten with a knife and fork? I have seen people do that. They just look silly.

My father-in- law does that too. He hates eating with his hands except for snacks like nuts or cheese and crackers. He won't eat corn on the cob; instead, he sits and waits for me or his wife to cut it off the cob for him. He won't eat ribs, fried chicken, or any kind of sandwich either.

I can imagine life without ribs, but no sandwiches? I can't even.

My husband and I have a friend kind of like this - he's EXTREMELY fastidious. He's not quite as bad - it's only with food that is "messy". He'll eat a sandwich, but he won't eat a pulled pork sandwich. He'll eat a cheese burger, but he won't eat a cheese burger with anything other than a small amount of mustard and ketchup on it. He'll eat french fries, but he won't eat chili cheese fries. Corn on the cob and ribs are both RIGHT out. I have seen him eat pizza, but never hot pizza - in other words, if the cheese is runny or melty at all and would fall off, he waits until it cools off or uses a knife and fork. Toppings other than sausage that is bite sized is a no-go as well.

Life without ribs?!?! LIFE WITHOUT RIBS?!?! My ribs are pork candy on a stick, and I don't mean because they are cloyingly sweet. I've seen people high-five each other after tasting my BBQ ribs. Of course, you do end-up with a "sauce grin" and saucy hands if you slather them with my sauce.

I don't like some messy foods. I start pizza with a knife and a fork if it is so hot it will burn my mouth, then pick it up in my hands from the second slice on. It has nothing to do with messiness, and it never occurred to me that it could bother anyone else. If you don't want to watch me eat my first piece of pizza, well, bye, Felicia.

I don't eat ribs often: too greasy. If I go to someone's house and that's what they made, I'll eat one, and fill up on sides. If there's good cole slaw, I'll eat more than one rib. But not eating sandwiches or cheeseburgers? That's just crazy. And I love corn on the cob.

That just means they weren't prepared/cooked correctly. Proper BBQing will render the fat and connective tissues, and you have to start with a properly prepared product.

That's the first thing that came to mind, but I've known people who do that when they are having problems with a tooth or their dentures.

What foods do people eat with their hands that should be eaten with a spoon?
