I do this regularly for a friend of mind's shop. (He's a mechanic. And my friend. I hook up everyone there. ) I do it as well for where I work. (Candies at mydesk, or doughnuts/cheap McDonold's breakfast sandwiches.

Maybe it's just me. Sometimes it is kind of cool when your coworker says "Breakfat sandwiches in the break room."or "Doughnuts in the break room." Or free breakfast sandwiches at my desk, etc."

We used to have this thing when it was your birthday you would bring in bagels, donuts or whatever and share it with the office. It was always the same people doing it for their birthday but at the same time those that did not bring in for their birthday were the first ones to glom all the food brought in. We stopped it after a few years. I can't afford to do this now and since I work in a food place there is no need to.

I like to bake but I don't want a bunch of baked good in my house to tempt me so I keep a few at home and bring the rest to work. Everyone loves the homemade goodies and I get to satisfy my cravings without going crazy.

Once in a while we do that here. Somebody just brings in a treat for no reason. It's tough on me especially, 'cuz I'm in the main office, and that's where the treats sit. No matter what it is, it looks mighty appealing at 3:00 in the afternoon.

70Ford, I think that's awesome you do that!

I used to do this regularly in my office but now all of our food and snacks are free in the cafeteria, and each floor of our buildings have a kitchen with tons of free snacks. So there is tons of free food laying around here and not as much of a need to bring even more food in. I do keep squares of dark chocolate w/ sea salt at my desk in a basket and they are pretty popular with those who like dark chocolate.
