I am having my mom and MIL over tomorrow and we will have a BBQ. I am making chicken kebobs, skirt steaks and sausage, followed by a tossed salad, baked potatoes with garlic and EVOO, Carvel cake for dessert because it was Mom's 69th birthday last week and we will celebrate that as well. She is staying overnight so on Sunday I will make her a nice breakfast.

What will I be making my wife? Reservations! Already made them.

She's a great cook and deserves something better than the kids and I can throw together.

I will be taking my wife and aunt out (probably Italian food, Dim Sum, or Indian food). My mother does not live in the same town as we do. But, I did send her a nice gift!

I'm not doing anythign for my mother. She's 1600 miles away.

For myself, the travel trailer is all packed and we leave for the lake the minute my son gets home from work.

He'll be cooking me a new york strip steak, canned creamed corn, home made baked beans (that I made yesterday). For breakfast tomorrow, it is chorizo eggs, with home made chorizo (that I made).

He does all the camp cooking, though, so all I have to do is sit around enjoying the camp fire.

Today, I will be baking chocolate chip cookies to go camping with us.

Grilled Ribeye, penne and spinach salad with a citrus vinaigrette.

Gin n' tonics for the adults and fresh organic lemonade for the kids from our 50 year old tree out back.

My mom lives on the other side of the country, so I wasn't able to cook for her. As for me, I woke up to breakfast in bed, including berries with cream, an omelet, and a cup of my favorite hot tea. It was a wonderful start to a great day!
