I would assume no other chains want to invest in the costs of serving their customers better in the way Buehler's does.
Yes, I imagine the conveyor system is very expensive, and it also requires a lot of space in the parking lot. Only one of Buehler's older stores does not have the system, because of lack of space. I believe grocery carts are a very big ongoing expense. If they are not out in the weather, or subject to theft or parking lot damage, this would defray the cost of the conveyor system, which is a big upfront cost, but after that, free.

I was wondering why I don't hear much about Buehler's any more ... until I realized that they closed their Mansfield store a few years ago.
