Here in NYC the Cronuts became the hottest dessert to hit the scene. People would line up to pay $3-4 each.

Quite possibly the most unhealthy dessert I ever ate.

Basically, it's a donut made of croissant batter. Then glazed, creme filling, and dusted with sugar.

My 1st bite, the taste is this super crispy and flaky texture. Then it feels super sweet and oily on my tongue. It is incredibly rich and sweet. After downing the 1st one, I actually wanted more with a different creme filling. After 2 cronuts I felt really sick, it just felt like I ate 2 bars of butter.

It is basically an oily and super crispy donut and the sweetest thing I ever eaten.

Yes, they are delicious. We have them here in Montreal. Yum, yum. Terrible for you, but oh so good.

PS. The ones that I've had (and, sadly, I've had too many since last summer) have not been oily. Just yummy.

Oooh, all sweets seem good to me right now, this is no exception. I'd eat it.

Lots of "delicious" food is unhealthy. I guess, it sells well what people want. It's the American eating culture.
And this is just another Frankenpastry.

interesting...

looking at the name and pics before reading i thought a cronut was a cross between a donut and a cheese danish (better recipe imo.)

i think of something more savory with croissants, the sweet isnt doing it for me

I have never had one and really don't think I want one, they just do not appeal to me at all.
I like foods that are not combined and the amount of sweet that has been described is too much for me.
