Plain cake donut fresh from the fryer. With some hot fresh coffee on a cold autumn day - the kind where you can smell the leaves and a touch of frost in the air. Hard to beat that combination.

But they hardly deserve the statement "I have to rank Krispy Kreme donuts as the world's worst."

Round Rock was a bust for me. I like a hot glazed KK, a Shipley's chocolate glazed w/nuts, and a creme donut from Spann's or Internaitonal in NJ circa 1972 (the ones you grew-up with always have a big influence...).

You are welcome. A lot is the fun of going around the holiday season. There really only good fresh and warm.
I have seen Krispy Kreme donuts at the market in packaged form but they don't look appealing for some reason. I heard hot they are good but in the few states I have lived I have never seen a free standing one.

Again, it's a matter of personal taste. The only time I thought a Krispy Kreme tasted halfway decent is when they are hot. Once they've cooled down, they're tasteless. A good donut will taste great whether hot or not. Krispy Kremes don't qualify, in my book.

Krispy Kremes were a late arrival to SoCal. The novelty quickly died down. I imagine it will be the same once Dunkin' Donuts finally arrives in the area.

The Cronut, it's a mix between a donut and a croissant. Fantastic! I think you can only find them in New York though. The NY NY hotel in Vegas carries them. It's a taste of heaven on earth!! Yummy!

Well, either that or they just don't agree with you.

My favorite donuts come from Bill's Donuts in Centerville, Ohio, but I haven't had one in years. Krispy Kreme donuts are great straight from the fryer, but they don't appeal to me cold.

I live in Seattle, and I do love Top Pot Donuts!
When did they change the recipe? I haven't had one in a very long time.
