What's to like about it? Well, it looks fairly elegant when served. Your guests will be impressed. Never mind you don't like it, just tell 'em that it's all for them or something like that. Dress it with hollandaise sauce made from one of those packets to really make a good impression. Or spritz with lemon, whatever.

We love in our home asparagus and when I was small we used to eat it with a boiled potato,melted butter and thinly sliced smoked ham Divine!

I see asparagus-haters (insert anchovies, olives, brussels etc.) as one of two camps. (1) Those with a developmentally-stalled childish palate, and (2) those who actually have an odd taste sensation (like the soapy sensation of cilantro among a very small percentage of the population).
