I haven't eaten at a stand-alone chain cafeteria in years, but I eat lunch at a Sodexo cafeteria on my companies campus almost every day. It's usually the main meal of the day, supper is now just a large snack. You can always get healthy food like vegetables and the price is not too bad.

I don't care for buffets. I think it's cleaner to have servers serve up the food, mainly because they are the only ones handling the utensils.

Those are both buffets though, not cafeterias. I do like Golden Corral, but Ryan's has really gotten pretty bad lately, they need to do better than frozen fish portions and soupy Mac n' cheese from a can.

I do not even know of any stand alone public cafeterias here in southern Delaware.

Oh...both of these are just excellent! I eat at them when I visit my family in the South.

The only cafeteria we have in our little town is the one at the hospital...LOL! If you have to eat at a hospital though, it's a very good value...and very good food.

Another vote for Cleburne! Just wish they were opened on Saturday, as it is a long drive for me.

I don't know why....the local Picadilly is great....I love to go in there and just get the new potatoes and some broccoli or broccoli-rice casserole and a piece of their cheesecake (mmmmm!) for dessert....that's a meal! My husband likes to get some cornbread to go with his.
