Is there something that you've tried -- but have not liked -- that you keep trying, in hopes that one day you'll like it? Maybe you think that if it's prepared *that* way instead of *this* way, maybe you'll have an epiphany and enjoy it?

What's the food and why do you keep trying?

PS. I don't have one. If it's an "acquired taste" and I didn't acquire the taste for it on the first go-round, then that's our one and only date. There are so many foods that I *do* enjoy; I don't need this new food to try and woo me.

No--I don't think so. If I don't like something the first time or couple of times, then I would probably be hesitant to try it again, at least for a long time.

Used to be mushrooms, but then I developed a taste for them and now I like them. Shrimp, I'll try every year or two. They are now tolerable.

You never know if your taste will change, so it is worth a occasional taste of disliked foods. I still don't like lima beans, though.

Brussels sprouts. Never liked them, no matter how I cook them, or have have them served. Somebody's gotta love them, out there. I hear they are super healthy.

Beer.
All my friends are beer drinkers and when we go out they sample a wide variety of different beers. They keep giving me a taste thinking I will eventually like one. Hasn't happened yet, but it's only been 23 years of trying. Maybe the next one!

Me too...I hate beer

Right now...Almond milk-I think it tastes like dirt. I keep trying it.

Can't believe my two have already been mentioned!

Brussels sprouts...I keep trying because they're super cute (and good for you).

Beer (well, dark beer anyway)...I tried and tried to like beer when I was married to a beer drinker. The closest I came was dark beer. Every now and then I try a new one to see if it will be "the one".

I love mushrooms and I love shrimp, but I'm soooo with you on the lima beans. Those dry nuggets from hell just won't go down.

I love Brussels sprouts -- a little salt, a little olive oil, bake 'em at 375 degrees for 45-50 minutes (until they're almost black) and they're delicious. It tastes like they have balsamic vinegar on them, but they don't. Good eats!

Beer. That I can't do either. My ex-husband brewed his own. Even the smell made me sick, from start to finish of the brewing. Dark, light, in-between -- it didn't matter. I hated it. Bitter, bitter hops. Feh!

Almond milk. I tried that once. I thought it would be sweet and taste like almonds. It was neither. One try was plenty. Feh!
