Some of the hospital food here is really good. The French take their food very seriously.

You know you are really hungry when....the thought of eating an off-brand frozen pizza with cheese-like substances isn't entirely off-putting.

When you're standing in the check out line at the grocery store and someone comes through with something piping hot from the deli and the smell drives you so crazy it is all you can do from ripping open their package and digging in.... okay, I would never actually do that but I have had that fantasy more than once

I was thinking the same thing...

in the 70's there was a show called real people, and they had sniglets, made up words
and they had a word for exactly this- food in the back of the fridge that you cant identify any longer, but still want to eat it- mustgonow or musteatnow

I should really skip over a meal when I am really hungry. Leads to a lower measurement on my weight scale.
