Whats everyones take on this? More and more places seem to be jumping on to adding a fried egg or cole slaw on to a dish that would not typically have this combination. Hamburgers and other sandwiches come to mind.

Well fried eggs on burgers have been pretty popular for quite a while, I don't see that as a new trend.
I haven't noticed any increase in eggs or slaw being added to other dishes, do you have examples?

Love both on almost any sandwich...but it has been a pretty standard offering (around here...) for a long time.

I grew up eating swiss cheese and cole slaw sandwiches...still one of my faves!

Yes, I do like to add non conventional food or relish to a traditional dish, BUT not (just) fried egg and cole slaw on EVERYTHING.

Slaw on BBQ sandwiches & hot dogs is pretty normal where I grew up. Not unusual to see fried eggs on hamburgers or enchiladas either.
What I can't stand is how some people put cilantro on things where it obviously doesn't belong--like on Italian or Greek food.

Maybe it's regional. I grew up in the S/W. My family added things like green Chili on a lot of things but not fried eggs or slaw on top of much.

I was thinking cold slaw on BBQ sandwiches. Costco has them in there in store feeders.

"Slaw on BBQ sandwiches & hot dogs"
Slaw on a good dog. I have to try that

Cilantro on everything doesn't fly in all foods in my opinion either. Theres a traditional taste you expect in certain foods and Cilantro will change that. How common was it in El Paso when you were growing up? It was always a minor player and still is in my family.

That sounds really interesting. What kind of bread? I'm thinking French or a sour dough roll

The only thing we had which is popular all over was a grilled cheese sandwich with a little Jalopeno(regional preference) and Tomato soup. Maybe and egg and some Chorizo

I love Cole slaw on pulled pork sandwiches, hamburgers and even liverwurst sandwiches. I have also had it on a roast beef hero with Russian dressing. Eggs? Well never had them on top of a burger but want to try a fried egg. I did have the best pork fried rice at an Asian fusion place that had a fried egg on top. Very good.

Fried eggs are fantastic on both. In fact, I had some cheese enchiladas with fried eggs last Friday.

Gotta keep the eggs a little runny though - cooked no more than medium.
