I'm hooked, hooked, hooked! Why did it take so long for me to discover Japanese food? Serves me right for being so ignorant and not daring enough to try other cuisine!

A couple of trips to L.A. did it for me to Little Tokyo, the result of my being adventuresome. Developed such a craving for more last week, I went to a Japanese restaurant here in Las Vegas. OMG, it was so good, I can't wait to go back! I also decided to sample some bakery items at a bakery in Little Tokyo, and again, I was blown away!

I'm so blind-sided I can't even think of going to a Chinese restaurant anymore!

But, who knows, I went thru this, earlier in my life, discovering Chinese food, and this may come to pass!

Anyone else ever go thru this?

Nope, never gone through that. I've been eating Japanese, Chinese and other Asian foods since I had teeth.

I eat lot of Korean food, Vietnamese and Japanese too. That and Middle Eastern cuisine. Can cook both, so I guess that switch happened few decades ago

I don't really like Chinese food. I love Japanese, Vietnamese and Thai food though. It's always good to try new things.

Why is this an 'either/or' sort of thing? It's quite possible to like a variety of cuisines.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Switch?
Sometimes I'm in the mood for Chinese and sometimes I'm in the mood for Japanese.
It's like asking if anyone has made the switch from Italian to French food.

I am a lover of all Asian foods, and Japanese is my top favorite. The problem, we do not have the selection of Japanese restaurants here, like we have of Thia and Chinese.

I eat all types of foods, so Chinese and Japanese (along with Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Indian) are eaten monthly for me...
