The most "manly" testosterone-laden man I ever dated was a body builder. Built like a tank. He was vegan.
Masters degree in science and very well-read. Unbelievable in bed...could last forever. Damn, I miss him.

"Salad is not food. Salad is what food eats."

Real men are omnivores. Real men wear kilts. Real men aren't afraid of being called girly men.

When I was growing up (1960s-70s) in the Southwest, there definitely was a male image that you were expected to maintain and that included meat-and-potatoes, jeans or dark suits, no bright colors, and you definitely never danced, cried, giggled, or whined. And, of course, you never expressed any emotion other than anger or, occasionally, happiness (when your team scored).

Thank goodness those dark days are past us and men today can be human beings again.

Not consuming vegetables is more of a young kid's game. Real men eat vegetables for the health benefits. Most bodybuilders and professional athletes eat a lot of veggies. Also, as men age, their metabolisms catch up with them and it becomes imperative to mix in more veggies into diets to maintain good health. Eating buckets of buffalo wings, pizza, and a bunch of red meat just doesn't digest as well as it used to. I'd say eating healthy and exercising is better than dying of a heart attack, which a sedentary lifestyle eating manly foods will give you. Therefore, it should be considered manly to eat vegetables.

Well, you won't get scurvy if you eat the raw liver from a freshly killed bison, take a bit out of its still beating heart and then drink its bile from a boot...

That was dramatic, but seriously... Raw liver has more than enough vitamin C to stave of malnourishment.

Also, to the OP... It sounds like your friend's boyfriend is stupid.

That's SO funny- my roommate has a Master's Degree in Science and contemplating going for his M.D. Smart, athletic (great body), attractive, great hygiene. If he weren't gay I would go after him myself

I like sweet alcohol drinks- its the women who call them girly drinks- cosmos, daiquiris, I like beer and whiskey too

but,,,it doesn't bother me one bit to get teased by the ladies-while some other guys wont drink em, afraid of getting ridiculed..

I don't understand the ops question,,,,does veggies cause a guy to go gay?? have a phobia against carrots??
doesn't make sense...at face value-

That IS funny.
My guy moved to another city (not NYC) and I don't do long-distance relationships. It never ends well, but I think of him fondly and often.

Precisely. Unfortunately, this kind of thinking is still alive and well in some parts of the country (particularly rural areas), but things are changing quickly.
